This policy explains the information SipCraft processes, why we process it, who can see it, and the choices available to you when using the SipCraft app and this website.
1. Scope
This policy applies to the SipCraft mobile app, our website, and messages you send to us about SipCraft. It should be read together with the in-app Terms and Community Guidelines. Those materials describe the rules for using the community and publishing content.
2. Information we process
We process the information needed to run the app and maintain a safe community. The exact information depends on the features you use.
| Category | Examples | Why it is needed |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address, password-verification digest, age confirmation and timestamp | To create and secure an account, and apply age-aware access rules |
| Profile | Nickname, avatar, bio and region that you choose to add | To identify your community presence and personalise your profile |
| Your activity | Drink logs, recipes, posts, comments, likes, reports and blocks | To save your work, enable community interaction, and enforce community rules |
| Media | Photos and short videos you choose to upload | To attach media to your content and show it according to its visibility setting |
| Purchase state | Product, transaction and restore results returned by an app store | To verify and restore an entitlement if purchases are enabled in a future release |
Plain-text passwords are not written to SipCraft business records. Payment card details are handled by the relevant app store and are not stored by SipCraft.
3. How we use information
We use account, profile and activity information to provide the features you choose: displaying recipes, saving logs, showing your profile, and supporting posts, comments, likes, reports and blocks. We use age confirmation to restrict alcoholic recipes and purchase entries for under-18 accounts.
We also use relevant information to review submitted content, respond to reports, prevent misuse, protect minors, and maintain the security and operation of the service. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising personalisation.
4. Visibility and sharing
SipCraft is designed to make the visibility of your content clear. We do not make a submitted draft public automatically.
| Content state | Who can see it | What this means |
|---|---|---|
| Draft or rejected content | You | It remains outside the public community feed |
| Approved public content | Other SipCraft users | It can be read, liked and commented on in the community |
| Report or appeal | Authorised review staff | It is used to investigate the report, enforce rules and communicate the outcome |
Public posts are not anonymous. They display your community nickname and stay connected to your account for moderation and community governance.
5. Media and security
Uploaded media is kept in private object storage and is served through time-limited signed links. We use access controls intended to limit information to the people and systems that need it to operate SipCraft. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a strong unique password and avoid posting information you do not want others to see.
6. Safety, moderation and high-risk reports
Content submitted for public sharing enters a review queue before publication. We may reject or remove content that breaches the Community Guidelines, including harmful, illegal, abusive, privacy-invasive or misleading material.
When a self-harm or harm-to-others signal is identified, we process only the relevant content text, the region you selected, the urgency you marked, and your account ID. This information is shared only with the human review team to assess risk and offer support resources. These high-risk records are kept for 90 days and then deleted.
7. Your choices and deletion
You can view and edit your profile under Me > Account & security, and you can delete your own logs, posts and comments at any time. You can also withdraw publishing consent on the publishing page; publishing remains unavailable until you accept the Community Guidelines again.
After confirmation under Settings > Delete account, SipCraft deletes accessible app profile data, content, uploads and entitlement records immediately and signs you out, with no cooling-off period. The current generic authentication service does not expose an internal identity-deletion endpoint. An internal email-linked authentication identifier may therefore remain until that server capability is added; this capability must be completed before production release.
8. Protection of minors
During registration, you confirm whether you are 18 or older. Under-18 accounts keep alcoholic recipes and purchase entries hidden and are shown alcohol-free alternatives. You can review your confirmation record under Account & security > Age & minor protection.
9. Purchases
SipCraft recipe packs are designed as one-time purchases, not subscriptions, and would not renew automatically. Payment handling, price and refund rules would be provided by the applicable app store.
Purchases are currently disabled. SipCraft will not start a charge until server-side receipt verification, persistent entitlement storage and restore support are complete. When purchases are enabled, this policy will be updated where required.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. For material changes, we will provide notice in the app. The effective date above identifies the version currently in force.
For privacy questions or requests, use Report & appeal in the app, or email mannekotilainen009@icloud.com.
